Father’s Day

My dad is the inspiration for this card. My dad has always been the captain of our family. He’s always been there for us regardless of what storms or calm weather we faced. What better way to show him how much we care.

To make this card I cut a 8 ½” x 11” piece of Crumb Cake card stock and cut in half to make the size 8 ½” x 5 ½”. This was folded in half to make the base. I then cut a 5 1/4″ x 4” piece of Soft Suede and ran it thru the Woodgrain embossing folder. The ship image is from ‘The Open Sea’ stamp collection on Whisper White and cut using the 2 ½” circle punch. The anchor is also from the same collection and stamped on Basic Gray. Early Espresso was used for the 3” circle. After adding a small amount of blue for the water by sponging, it was ready to assemble. Gold Brads were used to add that extra flair to the card. After all assembled, I used Stampin Dimensionals to add depth and raise the circle away from the card.
