Father’s Are Special

I recently lost my father April 14th, so designing a Father’s Day card for Stamp Camp was hard. Even as I write this my heart is heavy and tears are streaming.  My father was a great Christian man.  He was a FATHER that took that responsibility to heart as he guided his 3 daughters through life with Discipline, Respect and Love. You learned ‘Yes Sir’ and ‘No Sir’, you respected your elders and authority. He taught us right from wrong and we learned from that.  He taught me what a parent was thru this love, his actions and his strength and faith in God. This will be my 1st Father’s Day without my dad, and I know more tears will be shed.  I cherish all the things he taught me, the memories and the love. Take time every day to spend time with your loved ones and teach your children about family, respect, love and God.  Maybe in time our country can learn and teach each generation the values we had a long ago.  Don’t take a day for granted because that day may not come.  This card is for the memory of my dad, I miss & love you….

This card makes a great birthday card as well.

  1. Cut a 11′ x 4 1/4″ Crumb Cake Cardstock for the base. Fold at 5 1/2″
  2. Cut 1 – 5 1/4″ x 4″ Whisper White Cardstock for the inside.
  3. Cut 1 – 5 1/4″ x 4″ Dapper Denim Cardstock for the outside.
  4. Cut 1 – 5 1/2″ x 3″ Whisper White Cardstock for the larger banner.
  5. Cut 1 – 3 1/2″ x 2 1/4″ Whisper White for the smaller banner.
  6. Using the Big Shot and Banners Framelits Dies, punch out the banners. I used the 1st (largest banner) and the 3rd size down banner framelits.
  7. Stamp the ‘lined’ image from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in Crumb Cake ink on the largest banner. TIP: With clear stamps, you can see where the Dapper Denim is to be stamped, so skip that area and keep stamping the next rows in Crumb Cake.
  8. Repeat the above step in Dapper Denim ink.
  9. Stamp the car image from Guy Greetings in Dapper Denim ink on the smaller banner.
  10. Stamp saying of choice in Dapper Denim ink on the smaller banner. I used the Thoughtful Banner sayings for my saying.
  11. Stamp the dots from Gorgeous Grunge in Crumb Cake ink.
  12. Edge both banners using a sponge with Crumb Cake ink.
  13. Adhere the smaller banner to the larger banner then adhere to the Dapper Denim cardstock.
  14. Cut a 1″ piece of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon (#141487) and place against the Dapper Denim cardstock.
  15. Using the 1/16″ handled circle punch, punch hole thru the ribbon and paper.
  16. Add a brad to hold the ribbon and paper.
  17. Adhere the front to the base.
  18. Stamp the Wrench’s from Guy Greetings in Dapper Denim ink on the inside whisper white inside cardstock.
  19. Stamp the dots from Gorgeous Grunge in Crumb Cake ink.
  20. Adhere the inside to the card base.

  1. Sandy, I am so very sorry for the loss of your dad. May you be comforted by the hope of a glorious reunion someday and knowing how very much our Heavenly Father loves you. I pray you will feel His peace as you face the first Father’s Day, birthday, etc. and hopefully, in time, your memories of your dad will bring you bittersweet joy instead of pain. God bless!
